Savia was created to mobilize talent toward designing the packaging of the future, using low environmental impact materials to help address major global challenges affecting the packaging industry and the climate crisis.
The competition received 59 applications from startups and individuals across 22 countries.
10 finalists advanced to a DemoDay, where they pitched their solutions to a panel of expert judges.
Ultimately, 6 teams were selected as winners, and are now delivering global solutions that have been integrated into CMPC’s biopackaging value chain.
Following the success of the first edition, Unit now leads the design, implementation, and operation of CMPC’s open innovation platform for future editions, and continues to support the development of six global solutions being incorporated into CMPC's biopackaging ecosystem.
